A servant’s perspective

Service Corps. The name brings up images of happy, smiling youth going about the camp doing all sorts of odd jobs. When I signed up for Service Corps, that’s exactly what I was thinking of. I was expecting it to be a second mission trip. So far, we’ve sanded sailboats, scrubbed docks, picked up zebra mussels and more, which is exactly what I was expecting.

What I wasn’t expecting was meeting and getting close to the awesome people here. Everyone is so supportive of each other. You would think we’ve been together for seven years instead of seven days.  Working well in our free time really helps us to work well together when we’re doing projects. We all communicate well so the day goes by quickly.

I’m really glad that I signed up for Service Corps and I’m looking forward to another week of mission, ministry and friends.
