Work Weekends

DSC_0079In the north, on Higgins Lake so blue, there’s a camp that is getting ready for the next season.  If you’re looking for a mini-mission opportunity, here it is!

Join the fun as we prepare for another busy  season! There’s a job for everyone- all ages, all abilities. Families are welcome! No special skills are necessary!

It’s refreshing to spend a weekend at camp. You’ll meet fun co-workers, feast on delicious camp meals, and enjoy the waves lapping on the shore. Most importantly – many hands make light work.

Plan to arrive Friday evening (7:30pm or after) for fellowship and settling in; the first meal served will be Saturday breakfast. We stay through Sunday lunch, with a short time of worship on Sunday morning.  Bring a warm sleeping bag, your personal items, and work clothes.

Please register online so we can plan for food and lodging, and materials. The cost for each work weekend is $35 per person to cover food and lodging. Questions? Contact us at 989-821-9474 or info@campwestminster.com.

Spring Wake-Up Weekend

The forest wakes up on it’s own every year but Camp Westminster needs a lot of help! Your help!

Each year we gather to clean up from the winter, open up all the summer only buildings and make sure that everything is in working order for another great summer on Higgins Lake.

The Spring Wake-Up Weekend generally falls on or near memorial day weekend, please check the retreat schedule for this year’s dates.

Fall Lumberjack Weekend

There’s usually not much cutting of trees this weekend but more making sure camp is properly put away for the winter. While some buildings like the newly refurbished Worthington Lodge stay operational all year, the Wakeyas, Yurts, Rustic campground and other spots need to be put to sleep and woken up so that they don’t suffer ill effects during the winter.

This weekend is usually held in the early fall, please check the retreat schedule for this year’s dates.
