Join our fun-loving US Sailing trained instructors as they set sail on Higgins Lake each afternoon! For new sailors or beginners who wish to learn how to rig a boat, sailing theory, and the basics of sailing: achieve your beginning sailing rank during this camp. This is also a great opportunity for intermediate sailors to sharpen their skills. (Campers must pass a swim test to participate fully in the sailing program).
Sail to Treasure Island! Test your sailing skills in a Lightning Regatta! This week of camp is for those who are great swimmers and have experience sailing. Time will be focused primarily in practice on Higgins Lake. Plan to maximize water time with all sorts of sailing challenges!
Drama Camp Pro
If you enjoyed our Music, Art and Drama camp or if you are a budding thespian check out our all-new Drama Camp! Campers will spend two weeks working on their acting, singing, dancing, costume designing, and prop creation in order to put on a full musical on the final day of camp for parents and the community. Experienced staff will make this camp fun and exciting as we enjoy all of the other traditional camp activities. We will be presenting the “Jungle Book.”
[Year 2 of LifeWorks]
Radical Leadership is designed to give youth invaluable skills for the future by providing new challenges and responsibilities. Learn how to work with children and acquire community-building techniques. Conquer the Team Challenge and High Ropes Courses and embark on a wilderness trip hiking and paddling the Manistee River. Cover skills such as packing, map reading, cooking, paddling, tent setup and more. Guided by a dedicated staff chosen for their example as servant leaders, they will push you to strengthen the abilities God gave you.

Radical Service is designed to maximize your servant leadership potential! Spend about 4 hours each day working on service projects in the community. Assist with activity preparation, beautification projects, recycling and more! Be ready to work hard and do what it takes to make camp fun for the campers! But all work and no play doesn’t fulfill God’s plan…Spend the other activity times working on your climbing, paddling, sailing or other skills- we need leaders with a multitude of skill sets! Expedition to Iona, Scotland [Year 4 of LifeWorks]
“A trip of a lifetime…” “An unforgettable experience…” “A rare opportunity…”
These are some of the phrases leaders-in-training used to describe their pilgrimage to the Iona Community in the Hebrides Islands of Scotland. Camp Westminster values the development of individuals with cultural awareness and international experience. Stay at a breathtaking abbey and live and work in an international community. Gather together for worship, meals, chores, hikes, and reflection with people of all ages from around the world. This capstone piece of the LifeWorks program allows participants to reflect on their personal and spiritual growth over the last 4 years while gaining an invaluable experience abroad.

Rocks & Ropes (Trip Level I)
Perfect for campers who want to learn the exciting skill of rock climbing, or for those who love climbing and want to enjoy a whole week of it! After developing their skills on the Lighthouse Climb, campers will be able to climb real sandstone cliffs during a 3 day trip to Grand Ledge, Michigan. Also enjoy Camp Westminster activities such as swimming, campfires, high ropes, and more!
Devil’s Lake, Wisconsin Expedition (Trip Level III) (completed grades 8-11)
Camp Westminster is committed to offering awesome trips for youth. Devil’s Lake State Park just outside of Baraboo, Wisconsin is the most popular rock climbing area in the Midwest. It features spectacular cliffs and other rock formations where the Ice Age glaciers terminal moraine meets an ancient landscape of rock. It’s a truly unique and beautiful area often called the Midwest’s Yellowstone. The Devil’s Lake trip offers an unparalleled outdoor adventure for campers who have completed the Rocks & Ropes session or who have previous rock climbing experience.
Try out your climbing skills here top-roping free standing pinnacles, chimneys, and quartzite walls as you achieve unique summit experiences. Then hike through Wisconsin’s most popular state park enjoying amazing rock formations, endless vistas and miles of nature trails. Camp with your new friends at a wonderful campground, cook your own meals, and even go for a swim at one of the Devil’s Lake large sandy beaches.
Isle Royale Expedition (Trip Level III)
Journey to Lake Superior’s Isle Royale National Park this summer! With pristine wilderness, an array of wildlife and trained Camp Westminster staff to lead you, this expedition will allow youth to reconnect with nature and develop value outdoor leadership skills. You may even see a moose!
A new leadership development option in the LifeWorks program! Focus on building skills in sailing, climbing, outdoor living and more! A large part of being at leader at Camp Westminster is teaching and sharing these skills with others. Register for skills development and gain experience in these activities while learning the basics of facilitation under the guidance of certified staff. Please note: campers looking for a two-week leadership experience this summer are welcome and encouraged to register for Skills Development and Radical Service. There is a session stay-over option between these two consecutive sessions.
