US Sailing Camps

Whether your child has sailing experience or has never set foot in a boat before, each of Camp Westminster’s overnight sailing camp programs are designed to teach basic sailing skills through more advanced techniques depending on each camper’s individual needs. Experienced and carefully trained sailing instructors are on hand to navigate the crystal clear shores of Higgins Lake with campers in accordance with the US Sailing program. Choose the camp based on your child’s age as of the start of the camp week. In addition to sailing, campers have the unique opportunity to explore all that Camp Westminster on Higgins Lake has to offer.

For over 90 years, young people have come to Camp Westminster each summer to sail on beautiful Higgins Lake and sleep in rustic cabins. Campers interact as part of a Christian community and spend their day learning sailing skills on land (tying knots, parts of the boat, boating etiquette) and gaining new skills on our fleet of boats.

During the one or two week program, young people ages 12-18 sail our fleet of Aquafins, Sloops, and Lightnings and learn the skills of the high seas. Lifelong friendships are made through the spirit of teamwork that underlies the Camp Westminster experience. Our staff includes experienced counselors and  sailing instructors, many of whom are past Sailing Camp participants.

Camp Westminster is ready for you to climb aboard and experience the thrill of having the wind in your sails. Register today to ensure that you don’t miss out this summer.
